Parent & Family Compact 26-27

Each school that receives Title I, Part A funding must work together with parents to create a School-Parent Compact, which is a written agreement explaining how the school, parents, and students will share the responsibility for supporting student learning and helping every child succeed. As part of the school’s Parent and Family Engagement Plan, the compact outlines what the school will do to support learning, what parents can do at home, how students will take responsibility for their own learning, and how families and the school will partner to help children meet the state’s academic standards. The goal of the compact is to ensure that everyone understands their role in helping students achieve their best.

Commitment From Our School

Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s challenging State academic standards.

Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually in elementary schools) during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.

Provide parents with reasonable access to staff.

Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

Lindley will invite families to volunteer, participate, and observe school events and other approved volunteer roles. Parents may request classroom visits or observations by appointment. Volunteer opportunities will be shared through ClassDojo, newsletters, the school website, flyers, and staff communication. Families will be supported in completing any required volunteer/background check process, located on the GCS website.

Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff that is, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand.
