Welcome to the Lindley PTA

What are the goals of the PTA?

Lindley Elementary has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that is made up of parents, guardians, and teachers who care deeply about the education, welfare, and success of all Lindley students.

The primary goal of PTA is to support Lindley by funding and facilitating the following programs: 

School Supplies for all students! The PTA provides school supplies for everyone. All your child will need is a backpack and a water bottle.
Field Trips for all students! The PTA strives to fund all field trips for all students during the school year.
Student enrichment and family involvement activities such as Fall Carnival, Spring Picnic, Family Science Night, Family Movie Night, Reflections Arts Contest, and more.
Teacher appreciation events to let teachers know how much we value what they do in the classroom every day including regular hospitality events such as coffee carts, luncheons and “stock the pantry” events.
Classroom support  to help classroom teachers provide the necessary materials and supplies that help our students learn.
Media Support to ensure our Media Center has the best books and related resources for our children.
Beautification of the school grounds, including the Lindley School Garden, the Lindley Nature Trail and other outdoor spaces.
Communication with parents and guardians, including the Weekly Roar newsletter, email announcements, DOJO Announcements, a Facebook group, and this website.
Student and family wellness through activities like the annual Lindley Fun Run and other events.

How are PTA activities and programs funded? 

The PTA’s primary fundraiser is the annual Fun Run in the Spring. Kids, teachers, staff, families, and sponsors work hard, have a blast, and raise a ton of money to fund school supplies and field trips for all students.

Family Restaurant Nights. Once a month Kiosko Mexican Grill on Spring Garden Street hosts a Lindley Elementary Spirit Night and gives the PTA a portion of the proceeds from each event. This is a great opportunity to meet up with friends, eat some great food, and support a local restaurant while raising money for Lindley.

How Can I Get Involved?

We would love for you to get involved!

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in the PTA in whatever way works best for you. Here are a few ways to get involved:

Attend PTA meetings.  PTA typically meets once per month in the evenings. Some of the meetings are in person at the school. There is always an option to attend virtually. Meetings are announced in advance and a zoom link is provided.
Volunteer for a Committee. We have numerous committees to choose from. Some focus on specific events throughout the year (like Carnival and Fun Run) and others provide ongoing volunteer opportunities to participate throughout the year (like the Hospitality Committee).
Volunteer for Events. We will announce events throughout the year and post virtual sign-up sheets in various locations. Whenever you are able, we encourage you to come out and volunteer. It is a great opportunity to meet school staff and other parents and see your kids in action.
Sign up to bring in treats. Our hospitality committee sponsors events to treat our teachers and staff throughout the year. There are several “stock the pantry” opportunities each year during which we stock the teachers’ lounge with snacks and drinks. There are also regular events to show appreciation for our teachers and staff like a coffee cart, treats in mailboxes, Thanksgiving luncheon, Teacher Appreciation events, and more. We will post sign up geniuses for these events and invite anyone who would like to contribute!
